It is used for fixing chips, correcting damaged edges, and reshaping blades before regular sharpening.
This stone removes steel quickly, making it ideal for knives with large chips, bent edges, or very dull and uneven bevels.
Because of its aggressive cutting power, it is not intended for everyday sharpening, but as a problem-solving stone.
The #150 grit is best used as the first step, followed by mid-grit stones such as #1000 to refine the edge.
It is suitable for both Japanese and Western knives when major edge correction is required.
